Emmett Ensures Educational Excellence

Welcome to Emmett Middle School!

Due to some recent updates, you may not be receiving school notifications. Please log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, select "Contact Preferences" on the left, and follow the prompts to update your email address and select the types of messages you wish to receive. Checking all of them ensures that you won't miss anything. If you are having trouble logging in, contact Sondra Koontz, skoontz@isd221.net or (208) 365-2921, ext. 1261.

Student Council is selling Valentine candy- (and soda-) grams now through the morning of February 14th, to be delivered at the end of the day on Valentine's Day. Choose between Reese's peanut butter cups, Mountain Dew, Sprite, and Dr Pepper, and write a sweet note to go along with it, for $1.50 each. Students may purchase candy-grams during lunchtime. Parents are welcome to purchase them in the EMS office.

The second Bogus Basin middle school ski/snowboard trip will be February 17th. Registration is closed. Information for participants: The bus will leave shortly after school ends on Friday, by about 3:30, and return approximately 11:30 p.m.--12:15 a.m. (students will call parents when they are about ten minutes from school). Students may bring their extra clothing/gear to school on Friday and we will store it, or parents may bring it later in the school day if they wish. Some suggestions on clothing can be found right here. Students must also bring a sack dinner and/or money to purchase food at Bogus. Students must ride the bus home unless a parent is present at Bogus Basin to sign them out. (Notes from parents will not be accepted.) For any special circumstances, please call the EMS office at least one day prior to trip. Important: Don't forget to turn in the hard copy waiver that was given to your child. All fields must be completed. If you did not receive a waiver, call the EMS office.

The yearbook class will be hosting a winter formal/semiformal dance on Friday, February 24th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The theme is "Sweet Hearts, Positive Souls." Girls ask the boys (or just come anyway). A "Positive Soul" king and queen will be crowned for each grade level. Admission $3. Photos and concessions will be available.

The EMS After-School program (Monday-Thursday) is up and running. See the February schedule for a wide range of fun and enriching activities. All students are welcome to attend after school. Homework hangout does not require registration. To participate in enrichment activities, please sign up in the EMS office, via the online form, or use the QR code.

Find the Quiz Bowl schedule right here.

Parents and students, please review the student handbook and complete the response form here.

Parents, if your student has not been issued a Chromebook yet, print and sign the Tech Agreement and send it to school with him or her. If you do not have access to a printer, Tech Agreement forms can be picked up in the EMS office.

We are now accepting online payment for sports, PE clothes (grades 7 and 8 only), yearbooks, and more on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. To make a payment, select "Fees" on the left side of your Parent Portal home page. If your child has tried out for and been placed on a sports team, the fee will show there. Yearbooks, PE clothes, and non-tryout sports can be added by clicking "Optional Payments" at the bottom of your screen. A $2.50 per-transaction fee applies.

If your student is new to Emmett School District, get started on enrollment here.
