Important information about Open House, registration and first day of school
Welcome to our new school at Butte View Elementary for the 2020-21 school year. We are very excited to have you join our family. As we approach the start of school, August 31st, I know you need some information. Here are some important things to know.
If you haven't done so, please register your child for school at the District Office, 400 S Pine Ave, Suite 4, starting Thursday, August 20, 2020
On Monday, August 24th, we will have an open house which will be from 5-7pm. We will divide family visiting times up by last names.
- If my child’s last name starts with A-D, I will come visit the school from 5:00-5:30 pm
- If my child’s last name starts with E-J, I will come visit the school from 5:30-6:00 pm
- If my child’s last name starts with K-Q, I will come visit the school from 6:00-6:30 pm
- If my child’s last name starts with R-Z, I will come visit the school from 6:30-7:00 pm
Parents and guardians please honor the times above so every family will have the opportunity to visit the school and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Each family will need to participate in the transportation presentation at Carberry at any time between 5-7 pm Monday night, other than your session time at Butte View.
On August 31st school starts.
For Kindergarten the 1st day will look different from 1st grade.
- Kindergarten students and parents will both come to school during their scheduled session.
- There will be two sessions of 10 Students per group.
- Each session will be 90 minutes.
- During each session the following will happen
- Tour of school.
- Teachers will present classroom & distance learning online expectations.
- Question and answer.

Next week Parent Teacher Conferences start! Wednesday, October 14th, 5pm-8pm and Thursday, October 15th from 10am-8pm. If you do not have a scheduled time for either of these days, please contact your student’s Teacher to get on his/her list. Since we are doing conferences, there will be no school Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th. Please let your student’s Teacher or the Secretary know if you have any questions or concerns.
EARLY RELEASE REMINDER: Students will be dismissed Wednesdays at 2:35pm. If you have any changes with how they will be picked up or if they should not ride the bus, please call Stephanie, our Butte View Secretary, at 208-365-4691. Thank you.
Trustees adopt COVID Reopening Plan - After a lengthy discussion with staff, medical officials, parents and students, along with the review of dozens of written comments from the community, the Emmett Board of Trustees recently unanimously adopted the Emmett School District’s Reopening Plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
