Vision Statement

We envision and commit ourselves to a system that advocates for the educational needs of all students through the provision of appropriate and effective instruction.

Therein, we are dedicated to learning best practices, utilizing scientifically research-based resources, and engaging in constant collaborative communication in school, home, and community environments, on behalf of our students.

Our united efforts will support a seamless district-wide integration between programs, ultimately empowering students to learn and achieve to the best of their ability.

Children can have all sorts of difficulties growing up. Sometimes, problems are obvious right from the start, and sometimes they don’t appear until a child is in school. Some children have trouble learning to read or write. Others have a hard time remembering new information. Still, others may have trouble with their behavior.

When a child is having trouble in school, it’s important to find out why. The child may have a disability. Schools provide special help for eligible children with disabilities. This help is called Special Education and Related Services.

Destruction of Records:

According to Emmett School District Policy, the Emmett School District #221 hereby gives notice that the special education records are no longer needed to provide education services to individuals with disabilities who were enrolled in the district as a student prior to and including the school year 2017-2018 and have since left the district or the Special Education Program.

The district will destroy all Special Education Records from 2017-2018 or older (by shredding) in 45 days from the date of the notice. Destruction of these records is the best protection against improper and unauthorized disclosure.

Please be aware that if you have Special Education records on file with the school district these records may be needed for Social Security benefits or for other purposes in the future. If you wish to review the file or keep the file for your own records, please make the request to the Special Services Office within 45 calendar days. You may pick up your child's file or your own file if you are 18 or older with proof of identification such as a driver's license or picture identification.

For further information contact Paige at the Emmett School District Special Services office (208)365-5971.
