Benefits ~ Insurance
Open enrollment is July 1st - August 1st with an effective date of September 1st. This is the only time you can make changes to your medical, dental, and vision benefits outside of a family status change. If you need to make any changes during the open enrollment period, you will be able to do so when following the process through Employee Navigator. Each employee is sent an email with instructions during the open enrollment timeline.
Due to IRS regulations, you cannot change your elections outside of the annual Open Enrollment period (July 1 - Aug 1st), unless you have a Qualifying Event during the year. The following are examples of the most common Qualifying Events:
- Marriage or divorce
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Child reaching age 26
- Death of a spouse, or child
- Change in child custody
- Change in coverage election made by spouse during their employer's Open Enrollment period
- Loss of coverage under spouse's plan.
You must contact Human Resources within 30 days of the Qualifying Event (including newborns).
